BROWSERS, DEVICES & YOUR WORK

Your plan.
Know where it lives.

A clear choice now makes returning to your work easier.

Start locally, without an account

Your local planner’s work is kept in its browser profile on that device. Another browser, private session, or phone does not automatically contain the same tasks. Clearing site data or losing the device can remove local-only work.

Keep a separate export of important work. Harbor cannot recover local data that is no longer available in your browser or backups.

An account is a separate workspace

Account features use sign-in and account storage for the information you choose to put in that workspace. They are optional; you do not need an account for local planning.

Signing in is not an automatic upload, backup, or move of existing local tasks. Use supported import or migration controls explicitly and check the destination. Review the account features actually offered by the planner before depending on a particular cross-device workflow.

Using a phone or desktop

Open the Harbor website in the browser you intend to keep using. On a second device, expect a different local workspace until you deliberately use a supported restore or account workflow. Do not clear the original device while investigating missing tasks.

Installing or adding a shortcut

Harbor does not provide a native-app download. When the real planner or your browser offers an install or add-to-home-screen control, use the instructions shown for that device. An installed web shortcut is not the same as an App Store or Play Store application.

Installing does not by itself copy a local workspace to another device, back up your tasks, or prove that every feature works offline. Keep the original browser available and verify the workspace before relying on the installed experience.

Moving or restoring a local planner

In the local planner, open Settings → Import / export → Export backup. Keep the downloaded JSON file somewhere outside the browser. A CSV task export is not the full planner backup.

Import JSON previews a replacement, not a merge. Export any current workspace first, review the restore preview, and cancel if the destination or replacement is not what you intended.

Read the full backup guide.

Calendars are not external connections

The local calendar organizes work you enter in Harbor. It does not imply that Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or other calendars are connected. There is no automatic schedule building in the local planner described here.

When something looks wrong

Start with the browser, profile, device, and workspace you were using. Check lists, completed tasks and filters before changing storage settings.

Search Help or contact Harbor. Do not send passwords, sign-in links, or full task exports in a support email unless a suitable investigation method is arranged.

A small start is enough.

Open Harbor for your own plan. Tasks from the example are not transferred.
